Cooperative Overseas Universities and Research Institutions ▶ Imperial College London (IC)
The MOU between Wuhan University and Imperial College London Date: 4th April 2011
Cooperation Field/Section: The Joint Research Center of High Performance Simulation of Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering
Imperial College London is one of the most famous universities in the UK, it is also one of the top world-renowned institutions of high learning. IC has obvious advantages in the field of science and engineering technology. It met the seepage coupling by keeping its mind in the research and development of modern numerical techniques and simulation system and established a modern numerical calculation and simulation platform based on fluidity system and finite element and discrete element coupling procedure. Inter-school exchanges and cooperation are based on the teachers and discipline interaction. The connection between two schools expands our exchanges and cooperation with the world’s top 200 universities.
▶ Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL)
The MOU between Wuhan University and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory Date: 14th November 2011 Cooperation Field/Section: Hydrology and Water Resources Field; The Joint Research Center of Multiphase Flow and Multi-field Couplings Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory is one of the most famous national laboratories in America. It is located in the northeast of the San Francisco Bay Area, on mountain of the University of California, Berkeley and nurtures 9 Nobel laureates. The representatives from both sides have signed cooperation memorandum to build a cooperation platform for water resources and the environment research and lay the foundation for staff exchanges and doctoral student joint training. This memorandum is the first agreement to establish research cooperation platform with Chinese universities on the history of LBNL.
▶ University of Duisburg-Essen(DUE)
The Framework Agreement between Wuhan University and University of Duisburg-Esen Date: 11th October 2013 Cooperation Field/Section: Water Conservancy Projects and Water Management Institute University of Duisburg-Essen is consolidated by Uni-Duisburg and Uni-Essen in 2003, it is the youngest university in North Rhine-Westphalia and one of the ten largest universities in Germany. The representatives from both sides have signed a framework cooperation agreement and hope to promote the substantial progress in academic exchange and student joint training based on the previous cooperation and the specific items in the future.
▶ The Environmental Systems Research Institute, University of Osnabruck, Germany
The MOA between Wuhan University and University of Osnabruck Date: 17th October 2013
Cooperation Field/Section: Environmental Systems Research Institute
It is a national Environmental Systems Research Institute, one of Germany early research institutions that do research in the environmental management and system science, and contributes outstanding achievements in the sustainable development of environmental resources management and socio-ecological system. The representatives from both sides have signed a strategic cooperation agreement and an academic exchange memorandum to establish close partnership and promote the research and international cooperation in river basin, national, regional and global water resources.
